A giggle escaped her lips, a desperate sound. Here she was, telling herself she was strong, unlike her mother, and yet she was secretly hoping Devil was different from the men she’d known her entire life.
Frustration welled in her chest. It had steadily built up over the past three months. The pressure became too much to bear. Destiny curled her fists against his massive chest.
“Let it all out, sweet girl.” Devil kissed her forehead and just like that, she splintered.
Destiny pounded against his chest because she needed something to hit. A feral scream tore out of her throat. She released the animal that had made its home inside her, all the rage, the despair, and the frustration was finally out in the open. Devil took her every curse, her weak blows.
It felt like she was punching a brick wall. Devil was so big, so solid, and Destiny wasn’t exactly a skinny twig. She didn’t know how long she threw that tantrum. She’d never thrown one her entire life. Ever since she was a child, she built herself an armor so nothing could touch her. Spiteful words bounced off her wall, unable to touch her.
With Devil, she let herself crumble, knowing she could rebuild herself later on.
Spent, breath ragged, she let her hands fall to her sides. She rested her cheek against his chest, panting as he stroked her back.
“Feel better?” he asked her.
“Will you really let me go?” she whispered, looking up at him.
He cupped her left cheek with his big hand. “Your life is yours to live if you choose, but you need to get far away from here. From the Skull Riders.”
A fresh start at a new place. That was her dream, wasn’t it? Except Devil complicated the picture. He said he’d set Destiny free, but in just the span of a few hours, he’d already set his hooks deep inside her skin. This man was dangerous, but she had a feeling if he got on his bike and rode away from her, Destiny would never see him again.
The thought troubled her. Destiny started doubting herself. She no longer knew what exactly she wanted or which direction her life would go.
Chapter Five
Devil lied through his teeth. He offered her escape, freedom, but that was all illusion. Holding her in his arms only cemented the fact she was his to possess, to own. To cherish if she let him.
He still needed to hear the answer from her own lips. Affirmation she wanted him as much as he desired her. Devil was sick that way.
Destiny fisted his shirt and looked up at him, fragile and trusting. All his for the taking. Devil’s dick felt like a steel pipe between his legs. He could throw her on the table, tear at her clothes, and sink his dick inside her wet and tight heat.
He gritted his teeth. Devil wasn’t an asshole. Never to her. Destiny was too good to be his woman. She could be whatever she wanted. Do whatever she wished. Destiny possessed the smarts, the balls. Too bad the moment he laid his eyes on her, she’d sealed her own fate.
“Stay the night with me, please?” she whispered.
Good enough for him. Not trusting himself to speak, Devil nodded. He pushed sex away from his mind. Devil wanted to do a lot of filthy things to that sweet curvy body of hers, but he had plenty of time for that later. Right now, she needed him in a different way.
Despite how hard it was, Devil released her from his embrace and sat back in his booth.
“Are you hungry? I can make you something quick,” she said.
Before he could respond, she slipped out of her seat and was rummaging through the kitchen cabinet. She ended up making boxed mac n’ cheese for the two of them, along with a side of bacon. She also added two cans of beer on the table. Devil’s stomach rumbled. He sure could eat. Devil’s lunch had been a bag of chips and a stale sandwich.
Back in the Fallen Saints MC clubhouse, the prospects and occasionally, some of the club whores took care of the cooking. This meal had been prepared by his woman. That made it extra special.
“Sorry, it’s all I have,” she admitted. “I’m usually too exhausted to cook at the end of a shift. I have take-out or microwave a frozen dinner.”
“Food looks great,” he said, raising his beer to her. “Cheers to our first date.”
She studied him for a few moments before taking a spoonful of her mac n’ cheese. “You’ve never been on a proper date, have you?”
“Not really. Pussy is easy to come by in my line of work.” Those words slipped out naturally, by accident.
Destiny didn’t look very happy but he couldn’t change his past self. Devil wasn’t a saint. He’d chased after pussy like any normal man. All the women he slept with in the past paled in comparison to Destiny. Yesterday might’ve already been written in stone, but he could do something about his present.
She was silent for a couple of minutes as they devoured their food. Devil had never tasted anything so good. He pictured her, dressed in nothing but one of his old shirts, approaching and entering his room, their room at the clubhouse, balancing a tray of breakfast in one hand.
The image was so powerful in his mind, it almost seemed real. What Devil felt for her could be more than lust and simple desire. It was so much more than that. Devil had never felt this strongly for a woman before. One kiss and he was already intoxicated with her.
“I have a feeling that’s all going to change,” he said.
“How come?”
“Because you’re now in my life,” Devil said simply.
Destiny sucked in a breath. “And if I choose not to be part of—whatever this is?”
She had a point. Whatever was brewing between them could hardly be called a relationship. Devil chose to call it a promise. They had the potential to be more.
“I’ll respect your choice.” Another lie.
Devil would toss her over his shoulder and tie her to his bike if need be, but he doubted it would come to that. He was obsessed with her plain and simple, but she felt something for him too. Destiny just refused to admit the truth.
The real question was if Destiny could come to accept him and his lifestyle.
“I don’t know yet. Tonight’s been one confusing mess. I need time to think,” she finally said, pushing her empty plate across the table.
He picked it up, along with his own.
“I’ll do the dishes.” Devil offered. He began to wash their plates and cutleries. Devil sensed her rising. She stood next to him, holding a tea towel in hand. He guessed she didn’t have a dishwasher, so she had to do all the drying by hand.
“Why did come to River Dawn, Devil?”
“Because my MC needed a new route to make our deliveries.” Devil told her the truth because he didn’t see the harm in it. He was a slick liar. Devil could sweet-talk his way out of any unsavory situation. Saint sent him to deal with cops, politicians, and any other nosy fuckers, but with Destiny, Devil couldn’t lie.
“So the Skull Riders are your allies?”
“Allies is calling it a stretch. We have an agreement. That’s all. It could be broken in the future. Who knows? In my world, I only trust my MC brothers at my back. They’re my family.”
“Family. Sounds like a luxury.”
Devil handed her their plates. She spread the towel on the table and left the plates and forks to dry there. He didn’t mishear the awful longing in her voice.
“Devil, why did you choose this life?”
No one had ever asked him that question before.
“I didn’t. My brother, my real brother, Saint and I grew up in the MC. Our dad was the former president. After he passed away, Saint took over,” he explained.
“And you never pictured yourself doing anything else?”
“No. This life is all I know, and I love every fucking second of it. It’s addicting, knowing you’re above the law. I don’t see myself being somewhere else or holding a nine-to-five job.”
Devil approached her. She didn’t flinch or move away. Most women he approached were either scared or attracted to him. Destiny met his gaze as he rested his arms on either of her on the table. He trapped her
there.
“Where do I fit in in this picture?” she asked him. “Are you going to put me to work, the way Skull did?”
Did she mean strip? Like hell that would happen.
Thinking about Destiny taking off her clothes for other lecherous men made his blood boil. From now onward, she’d only strip for him and him alone. Her beautiful body was his to conquer and worship alone. Devil was possessive to the core. He’d rip apart any asshole stupid enough to look at his woman the wrong way.
She stiffened when he laughed, unable to help himself.
“Baby, I’m not going to put you in a cage. You can do whatever the hell you want, as long as you’re mine.” Devil meant every word.
Few of his MC bothers were in committed relationships but those who were in one let their old ladies do whatever they wanted—as long as the women didn’t break their rules. Destiny would fit right in with all of them. With him. Destiny might be meant for better things, but she’d fallen for a sinner. A Fallen Saint.
Devil leaned in to kiss her, gently this time. He took a step back, because if he did anything further, he wouldn’t be able to control himself. Destiny was still deciding whether to trust him or not. He didn’t want to ruin whatever fragile connection they’d somehow managed to form.
“I need a little more time to think,” she murmured. “This is all too much at once.”
“I understand. Get some shut-eye,” Devil agreed.
She’d had a long night. He also needed to check in with Saint, update his brother about how things went. Devil was supposed to return to the clubhouse before morning, but Saint knew he could take care of himself. Besides, he didn’t want to leave Destiny all alone.
Remembering the graffiti the Skull Riders had sprayed on her trailer made him remember they weren’t in the clear yet.
“I’m going to take a shower,” she announced.
He was tempted to ask if she wanted company but then curbed his tongue. Hearing the shower door shut, he peered out the trailer windows, searching for bike lights. For all he knew, Skull would send out men to watch him, them. He might be overthinking things, but it didn’t hurt to be paranoid. Paranoia kept him alive all these years.
Devil pictured Destiny naked and wet in the shower and groaned. It would be too easy to slip inside the tight space and join her. To feel her soft body against his hard one. Devil gritted his teeth. He’d stay his ground. Give her the space she needed. For now.
Devil had a feeling he wasn’t going to get much sleep tonight.
Chapter Six
“Here’s a spare blanket,” Destiny offered. He accepted the item. She added, “I left a spare towel in the bathroom, in case you want to take a shower.”
“Will do.” His grin made her heartbeats quicken.
Destiny wasn’t sure how it came to this. Devil offered to spend the night to keep watch over her and she hadn’t argued, merely accepted his offering. She was letting a strange man she hardly knew sleep in her home. Like mother like daughter.
No. Destiny was not like her mother. Devil wasn’t like the clients her mother fucked for hard cold cash either. Skull had given her to him on a silver platter and yet he’d been polite. Devil could’ve taken her whenever he wanted, but he hadn’t.
He confused her on so many levels.
“I might take you up on that shower,” he said.
She nodded. “I’ll head to bed.”
She was beginning to feel a little self-conscious, standing in front of him dressed only in one of the oversize large shirts she preferred to wear to bed. Destiny could feel her cheeks and neck heating up as Devil dragged his intense gaze down the line of her body.
The cotton material of the shirt was so thin, he could probably see her nipples pebbling. Destiny closed her legs together, feeling the wetness on her thighs. How could one man make her so easily aroused with just a single look?
Thank God for the bad lighting in the trailer.
Destiny cleared her throat. “Good night, Devil.”
“Sweet dreams, Destiny.”
She ran to her bedroom and quickly slammed the door shut. Destiny rested the palm of her hand against her chest. Her chest felt tight. Her heart was still at a gallop. She breathed in and out. Destiny wasn’t sure how long she stood there and felt like an idiot.
Pressing her ear to the door, she caught the sound of the water running. He was just taking a shower like he said.
Destiny lay down on the mattress, intending to get some shut-eye. Some sleep would do her some good. Tomorrow, she’d wake up feeling fresh and revitalized, her mind filled with clarity. She could make a decision then, come up with some kind of plan.
Finally freed from Skull’s control, she could do whatever the hell she wanted. What if she left River Dawn and started a new job at an unfamiliar town only to be a waitress again? Worse, what if she went back to stripping because it paid good money?
No. Destiny could go back to school, get a job at an office. Marry a nice man and buy a modest starter home so they could start a family. Live a boring life.
Where did that line of thought come from?
Destiny pictured herself riding Devil’s bike, her arms around his big body, her hair streaming behind her. He’d loan her his jacket again and she’d smell a little of him. Leather and spice. She conjured Devil in her mind and inevitably, she slipped her fingers between her legs.
She started stroking her wet pussy. Destiny used her other hand to give her aching breasts a squeeze. It was his hand she imagined caressing her tits. His face and powerful body above her.
Destiny had gone on a few dates, but they all turned out to be disappointments. She wasn’t a virgin, but sex had never interested her before. Not really. Her last boyfriend, Fred, had thrust inside her a few times and it was over in a matter of seconds. All the men she’d been with, and they were few in between, had left her empty and unsatisfied.
That couldn’t be the case with Devil. He must be fifteen, twenty years older than she was. Devil probably had a ton of experience under his belt. He wouldn’t be like the sweaty and nervous boys who courted her before. What would it feel like, to be with a real man like him?
Destiny bit her lip, muffling a moan. She rubbed her clit furiously, incredibly turned on by the images running through her head. Devil sliding his big and meaty dick inside her, making her scream. With a groan, Destiny came.
She rolled to her side, panting, feeling completely spent.
Here she was, taking care of her own need, when the genuine article was just outside. If she beckoned Devil to her door, what would that make her? A whore, just like her mother? After all, she only met Devil today. The entire town thought her a whore anyway. What did it matter?
“He made it seem like I was different,” she whispered.
They were words of consolation to spare her from the truth. Destiny didn’t give her trust easily, but when she did, she was fiercely loyal to her person. Could she risk trusting a dangerous biker who was twice her age, or would Devil only end up breaking her heart?
“You have no idea how important you are to me.”
For a second, Destiny thought she imagined his hoarse voice. Horrified, she turned toward the door only to find Devil standing there, breathing harshly. Her mind blanked out. She blushed fiercely. Destiny still had one hand in her panties, the other over her exposed breast. She could never live this embarrassment down.
By some miracle, she found her voice. “Did you see?” she whispered.
He nodded, as if he couldn’t trust himself completely to speak. The raw hunger in Devil’s eyes made her swallow. She was getting wet again. Her gaze slipped down his face, his powerful body. Destiny zeroed on the erection he sported for her.
Destiny stripped for a living—or at least she used to. She was used to men gawking at her scantily clad body but under Devil’s appraising stare, she felt like a virgin again. Untouched. All his. She’d never been one of those women brave enough to make the first move when it came to sex.
She didn’t know where she found the courage to take off her shirt and panties. Destiny held out a hand to him. “Join me.”
“You sure? Because once we start down this road, sweetheart, there’s no going back,” he said in that same uncontrolled voice.
Devil wanted her badly. She could see it in his eyes, but something was holding him back. Some men took without permission, but Devil wasn’t one of those men.
“Yes,” she answered. “You’re the one I want.”
She bet her neck and cheeks were bright red by now. Before she could take back those embarrassing words, Devil peeled off his shirt, revealing his impressive upper body. Devil was cut. Black ink wrapped around the entirety of his body. He kicked off his shoes, then dispensed with his belt and underwear.
Devil’s dick hung thick, long, and meaty between his legs. She sucked in a breath and wondered if he could fit his dick inside her tiny pussy. He crawled on top of her, pinning her arms above her head.
“Kiss me?” Destiny wanted to find out if she’d imagined the heat of their earlier kiss. She didn’t.
Once Devil claimed her mouth like a savage, Destiny knew she was done for. He thrust fire down her throat and when he deepened the kiss, her mind blanked out. The moment his bare, rock-solid, and warm body touched hers, her tits hardened, and moisture gathered in her pussy.
Devil left a trail of heated kisses down the side of her neck, her collarbones. He kissed her breasts reverently, then closed his mouth over her left nipple, sealing it with heat. Devil slipped his big hands down her sides. He played with her pussy, stroking the pink folds back and forth. Devil used his thumb to rub her clit. The assault of pleasure was almost too much to bear.
She never had such an attentive lover before, a man who paid close attention to her needs before satiating his own. Destiny cried out as he bit down hard, leaving a perfect imprint of his teeth there. Devil did the same with her other breast.
